Satellite/Cable Savings

Our first post is concerning how to save on your Satellite/Cable bills with all of the confusing advertising and program packages. Here is what the reader had to say:

"Hey Terry!

I have the same question as an other person about how you can come out on top of the cable/vs dish war...We are also confused as to what is a better deal. We also have Comcast in Indiana(formerly Insight), We have basic plus, and pay $60.00 a mo for 60 channels. This is ROBBERY when it's hard to afford the basics. Sure, you would suggest dropping tv service.

Yes! I understand that, but for some of us, that's the only entertainment that we and our kids have. I have'nt tried dish, but i hear it is unreliable in severe weather...that is when being informed is most important! What is your opinion on this ? Maybe we could team up on this issue, as this is an issue for many of us in these hard times. We all have to sacrifice something to get by.

Would you be willing to make this a major issue on the newsletter? Perhaps we could start a price war to bring prices down for all of us! This would be a BIG DEAL for a lot of people at the mecy of these giant companies! I feel strongly that we need a break from rates we pay, as they treat our money like it's monopoly money! Thanks for your newsletter that strives to help us all out."

In many cases your tv is your only source of entertainment because you simply don't have the money to do anything else. If you have any ideas or a better understanding of how to save on this please leave your post for all to see.
